Very nice bike Chrisf1, I'm working along similar lines but standard bars and toolbox/oiltank same colour as fuel tank.
I'm intrigued with the downdraft carb, how did you achieve that?

Yep I can see it's a concentric but do they just lie at that angle when fixed on or has some work been done to the head intake flange to make it lie that way?

Firstly my  finest congrats to Chris for such a magnificent looking bike! That is one Heckuva cool looking machine!

Concerning the angle of intake though I fail to see why it was made at an angle like that? If you have an internally leaking petrol tap and your carb insides (float needles) are weepy, it would not take much for petrol to run down into the sump and contaminating the oil. One would not neccessarily be aware of this but if using a thicker oil you'd eventually notice it thinning out (Like I have done  sad2 ) The Iron head also has this angle like the alloy one on Chris bike. I suppose the answer to avoid any possible problem would be to park the bike on an incline so that intake is horizontal or sloping backward away from cylinders.

Has anyone else given this any thought?

I thought Chris's bike looked like the downdraught was more than normal but maybe it's just the Photo or the angle looked at.
Whatever it is a smart machine.
