G'day to all,

 Yesterday i take a trip with my BSA a10 1960. Is the second trip then i finish the engine recondition.
A Friend who followed me told me that some times my bike made impure smoke.Not white , not blue , not black compination of smoke.
 What mean that?

Was the smoke when you were accelerating, at a constant speed or slowing down.

Likely to be the rings, as its a recent rebore ( I assume reconditioning included a rebore) you need to get the rings to bed in before the bores glaze so apply more throttle for short spells, this will force the rings outwards and accelerate the bedding in. You should also be using a cheap oil for bedding in, only switch to synthetic oil (if you plan to use it at all) after 1000 to 1500 miles once the bedding in is finished.

so your opinion is to charge the oil first and if the problem don't solve charge the piston rings?

Yes, during running in change the cheap oil regularly and use the right hand to vary the throttle opening and get those rings to bed in themselves. If by the time you get to 1000 miles and it still smokes then you may have glazed the bores and so need to hone the bore to deglaze and install new rings. I have gone to dry ring install route now and do not allow the bike to tickover when first starting, check for oil circulation, check timing quickly and then ride. Last rebored bike smoked for first 200 miles but was fine after that.

Also i would like to ask you something else.When you said oil circulation may be if i will change new one oil pump is better for solve the problem?

Is it wetsumping? Drain your crankcase before the next ride to exclude the possibility. Check the pickup anti-drain ball is'nt restricted in the pickup tube.Eliminate all the easy possibilities first.

G'day Renos,
As Wilko says, check for wet sumping, but I definately wouldn't pannick just yet if it's only the second run.
Smoke could also be rich running, when you are opening the throttle, what do your plugs look like after a run,
not after an idle. If it is rings, give it some time, burning a bit of oil isn't going to hurt anything, & it may well
come good, "Good Luck with it",
