Chrome/stainless fork seal holders. Which ones are best

which are the best fork seal holders to fit.
stainless or chrome?
The first job i will be doing on the 55 flash is the fork seal holders and also the rear plungers. I will also be ordering replacements for the 1950 plunger project and my brothers 49 A7.
WHICH IS BEST AND WHO WOULD YOU RECOMEND TO GET THEM FROM.

I have stainless covers/holders both front and rear. The stainless plunger covers came from Will Horgan (0208 751 1931) quite expensive but I couldn't find any alternate supplier.

When I built the bike (2003) I fitted chromed plunger covers but within 8000 miles a couple of them had rotted into holes.  Eventually they started squirting grease onto the back tyre when hitting bumps so I changed them...  The good thing about stainless is that you can use the bike in winter without having to hose the salt off when you get home at midnight.  (Or that would be the case if the fool hadn't fitted alloy guards and rims)

I like stainless and the difference in price is not to huge, nothing more annoying than fitting nice new chrome ones and then finding they've rubbed through after less than 1K, which begs the question regarding alignment, must be an answer to this ?

I'd be interested in any tips ref alignment and straightening the spring cover tubes

The stanchions were bent on my A10 project- only circa 8mm - but seemingly enough to cause rubbing on the seal holders now the stanchions are straight....
