I had saved a link to a company in India (from EBAY) that do repo guards for plungers, but it seems to have deleted. check any Indian companys on ebay.

G'day David / Pato, I got a front guard from a mob in India ebay and can't recommend them. i had to use two cans of spray bog to cover the grinder marks and the rib down the center looked like a drunk snake  Cheers

I got mine from Burton Bike Bits, 138 Waterloo St., Burton on Trent, DE 14 2NF. 01283 534130 user@bbbbot.fsnet.co.uk. That was back in 2003, don't know if they're still on the go. Came in primer grey, with no holes. You had to drill in your own fixing holes from measurements from the old tinware. I had it for a few years before finally getting around to fitting it, only then did I notice it was a bit 'bananna' shaped, and was a bugger to fit. Once fully tightened in the frame the 'bend' isn't too prominant. Something to look out for. John

G'day Pato, that looks like the rear of the pair that I got the front of. Does that sound left handed. Mine looked like it came from the 1st year panel beaters class at tech in 1976. Cheers

I have a rear mudguard off a 1949 Star Twin plunger- original paint, a couple minor dents but otherwise in awesome shape. I will trade only, or sell if I can get a rigid frame mudguard to fit my 1948 Rigid A7. The plunger mudguard is similar, and will work in a pinch, but it would be nice to get the proper rigid version. Vincent

I'm hearing you Vincent those rigid A7 rear guards are super hard to find and nobody is reproducing them. I have two 1947s and two 1948s I only want to build one of each year. I have one good rear guard and one not so good and one really bad one but should be ok with a lot of work. I'm chasing another good one but I never see them for sale or spare. The front guards for 1947 and 48 are hard to find as well they are wider then the later 1949 on type because 47/48 had the wider fork triple trees and QD front wheel. Terry

Vincent I had a real good look at the difference between the plunger rear guard and the rigid and there really isn't much difference at all. All the difference is really is the support bracket that goes in the middle of the plunger guard for the L shaped mudguard brackets to bolt on to. Its at the hinge for a rigid for the rear lifting handle to bolt to. All you need to do is move it. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the advice, that's pretty much what I've ben planning to do. Just didn't want to modify the plunger version until the bitter end if I happened to come across a genuine rigid mudguard. Vincent
