Hi to Everyone,
I have been solving all my problems by visiting this Brilliant site for a couple of years, so I feel it's about time I introduced myself.
I am Ron, 59 years young and retired, living in Southampton. As a teenager I owned a B31, A7SS & A10 Gold Flash before moving on to cars and women.
I purchased a basket case 1958 A10 Gold Flash via ebay more than 2 years ago 'Believed complete' - Oh well serves me right for not viewing before buying. Lots missing/broken/wrong bits etc. But after finding this site it has and continues to give me enormous satisfaction to work on it. It is now well into the final few months before it moves out the garage and I know I will have a few questions to post.
The bike has reg. 425 NW and was last taxed 1978 (even have the old disc). I doubt if it has seen any use since then. If any one recognises the number please let me know as I would love to find out the full history.

Hiya Dogman, Welcome to the forum. As you've already found out, there's plenty of information on here, and invaluable help (if you need it) available from the members. Good luck with the build. Don't forget to keep us informed of your progress.

hi Dogman and welcome, I suppose living in Southampton you can nip across to France for a spin. I seem to have an idea that the BSA owners club hold factory records so you might be able to get some history from them. http://www.bsaownersclub.co.uk/home.html Muskrat - what is a blockette?

Thanks for all the welcomes.
Hi Goldy, I shall follow up your suggestion re BSA club.
Yes being so far south is great for the Continent. Have been with some friends 4 0ut of last 5 years on my old Honda VTX1800 which have just changed for a Triumph Bonneville America which has twice the range for same petrol.
Portsmouth port is Just 20 miles away. Last year we took the ferry to Caen, toured around France and came back via Santander in Spain. Life can be so good at times.
