hi been told that the a10 can strip the worm drive ,with kicking back if to far advanced, is this the case !!!! confused eek sad2

If all is as it should be then I can't see why this should be the case, perhaps I'm missing something (not unkown) you can after all turn the engine backwards so where would the restriction come from to strip the worm.

I wonder if this theory comes from the worm can drive a gear but gear can't drive a worm thing.??

With a standard compression auto timing advance I somehow doubt damage would occur as I've never experienced strong kick backs on my A7 or 10's. Your more likely to suffer worm damage on a big single though.

yes i have a mate with a indian enfield 500 single and, he has had problems with the worm drive due to kick back ( or thats what the dealer said !!!!!!!) huh2

I rode my 1970 441cc BSA Victor Special for 14 years , kicked back for 14 years. No problem at all !!
Oil pump & drive very similar to the early set up.
