Same seller, this one looks a little better. Prices on all his stuff a bit steep. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSA-A10-Engine-Spares-Repairs-/220811236343?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item33696013f7

Aww come on, a squirt of WD40 down each plug hole and clean the points and it will be fine....... no, they look like a pile of scrap, both siezed solid.

Andy,

You have to admit that any one of us would find a way to unsieze these engines if they were dropped on us as a gift, but paying about 1000 GBP for the priviledge is a bit extreme.

There is no dispute that original British Bike parts are becoming more difficult to find. I notice that one of the uk regular autojumblers has suddenly started selling japanese parts. It,s obvious that one day they well run out and there has certainly been a reduction in parts available over recent years. The idea seems to be to ask a silly price because they are now scarce knowing that someone will pay the asking price.

The stuff is still out there. its cyclical. Every 20 years or so people realise that the spare engine/basketcase in the shed will never get done and it gets punted out. Either by them or their recently bereaved relatives.

Can't argue about the silly prices, they are there to be seen and disbelieved.
But parts are a different matter, seems to be more available now than five or six years ago, for A10 at least, with new stuff being produced albeit of varying quality, some excellent some requiring remodelling?
Owners of less popular models will be fairing worse

Richard you are spot on. 1000 quid is a bit steep. There is deliberately no info other than its siezed. It could have dropped a valve or thrown a rod, have scored +60 barrels, have a crank on the last grind etc. there seems to be a chunk broken off the innner timing case where its been dropped off a pick up truck. £150 tops and take the risk.
