Sounds great but why not visit a few bike wreckers and pick up a head and tail light of an old chook chaser (trail bike). most would be light plastic or alloy and 6 volt. While your there look for a bash plate to protect the frame and cases.

Something else you could consider is removing the dynamo and run a small 12v battery at total loss for the tail/stop light with led globe. Also either short GS shrouds or gaiters to stop mud/water eating the seals.
