Hi Stephen;
If you do a web search for "Kim the CD Man" you will be able to purchase a BSA DVD with files containing an Instruction manual and a Spare parts list for your bike if thats what you are looking for. The disk also has weeks worth of other reading material that makes it well worth the price. The info is available from many other sources also. If you need help with repairs you are at the right place. The members of this forum are the best at helping us newbies with any thing BSA!!! smile
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi Steven
  I have a 49 Star Twin,they are beautiful bikes to ride.  Ebay is also a excellent source of literature.  Keep an eye out at swap meets and you can also find some good deals.  Can you post some pictures?

Hello Steven,
                  I also have a 50' model and I can back up what Jeff said, they are a nice bike. There are a few of us on the forum who have one so I think between us we should be able to answer most of your questions.

My Star twin is a 1949 plunger model currently fitted with a short-stroke 500cc engine. I have toured France several times with the original long-stroke engine but in July 2011 the gearbox locked up, the grub-screw securing the gear selector shaft fell out and the shaft moved into the gearbox sprocket and jammed.

The bike is now attached to a sidecar, but need to change the rear wheel sprocket as it is too high geared, Does any-one have a 49T sprocket ?

Hi Michael... I'm almost certain I have a 49t rear wheel sprocket, It does not have the centre part with splines so you will need to remove yours and refit. I'll try remember to dig out the sprocket and photograph it for you and we can perhaps take it from there.

That is very like Mine in appearance , just trying to track down a set of friction clutch plates ?
Would like to keep in touch if possible ?

Steve the clutch plates are the same for all the plunger twins so should be readily available at any of the UK dealers like C@D's.
