Auto advance unit
«

I picked up a couple of auto advance units in my travels and one of them is a bit unusual.
The one on the left in the pic is the normal type with the retaining ring that presses onto the shaft to hold it together but the one on the right doesnt have the retaining ring. The boss that fits the maggy shaft is one piece. Has anyone come across one like this before and if so how does it come apart ?

Are you sure its not there and just been turned down which has hidden the "join" ? There is a faint mark although its not clear in the pix.

Andy you could be right. I just had a look, with my glasses on this time, and it does look like there is a visible ring around it. I will make a drift and give it a smack and see if it moves.
