Hello, Newbie here, Am purchsaing BSA Gold Flash A10 1954 plunger in a box, from a mate and will be restoring, scheduled to start in a couple of weeks, when I've got all the boxs together with all the bits - hopefully. Anyway, new to restoration and could use all the help I can get so will be posting my ridiculous questions over the coming months, if not years. Yikes, what am I getting myself in to?! Would be grateful for any info and in the meantime will look at all your lovely completed project pics. My day bike is a Honda VFR 400 Z 1988. Ed.

Only young once, immature forever. Now how can I make this go faster. '51 A7 plunger, '57 A7SS now A10, '71 A65 Lightning (gone to god) '76 XT500, '83 CB1100F, next project a '64 A65.

Thanks Chaps. I'm in the sunny old UK. Looking forward to starting the project. Should be a couple of weeks before D Day but will keep an eye on the site, well, just for kicks really. The bike has had frame powder coated and wheels re spoked and sorted. What I do know it's deficient in is handlebars and a headlight, hopefully I'll be able to source those through this site. Fortuantely I have a helper in my brother in law who is also a keen biker, but perhaps more improtantly, has an engineering background. Unlike myself, I tend to fix with paper clips and sellotape. hope to be chatting more in the future.

HI ed,I dismantled and rebuilt a A10 from scratch,it was the forum who advised me from start to finish,and I had no knowledge of bikes or the basics of mechanics.I asked some really duff questions,really simple questions and there was always someone who helped.So you have landed in the right place, cheers-steve

Hi edsdad don,t worry about ridiculous questions, It,s as with most things if you know the answer it,s easy if you don,t then it,s difficult. You will find plenty of answers to your questions here and if you are building a basket case then you will certainly have many questions. At the end of the day this is a hobby - Enjoy
