Would like some help with info on a carb please.
Have come across a 10TT9 in very good original condition and need to know what bikes these were fitted to as original or as an option. It has a bore of 1 5/32" and is stamped twice with '17 MG' and once with 'TESTED 15', haven't a clue what they mean. The float angle is at 15° as best as I can tell.
I know some BSA's and Royal Enfield's used this type of carb in the late 50's, were there more and what sizes etc.?
Thanks, Col

I had a 10TT9 on a '50s BB32 Gold Star but I can't recall its bore. I do remember that there isn't a tick over adjustment so for town/road work they can be a nuisance to have to avoid the engine stopping when ever you pull up at traffic lights/road junctions etc.

I think that carb was used on the 54 Road Rocket. It also might have been used on the 53 Super Flash. Jeff

According to the Amal reference catalogue the 10TT 1 5/32 was fitted to the B34 1949 - 54, Super rocket and Spitfire 1960-61 and Norton 30 1946 -54. The same model was fitted to various machines, Velocette, Vincent, Indian, Matchless, AJS and Ariel but they were 1 1/16, 1 1/8 or 1 3/16. All the best Goldy
