1953 - A10 Golden Flash (Plunger)

« on: 04.12. 2007 14:18 »

Hey guys,

I have recently dipped my toe into Classic bike ownership by purchasing a 1953 Plunger Golden Flash.  This bike had a nut and bolt rebuild around 2 years ago but hasn't been ridden since.   I also have a modern bike (1998 Honda Fireblade) and I have been a member of the VMCC for just over a year.

Sorry for the quality of the pictures, as the weather has been so bad of late I have not been able to take some better quality ones.

Regards,

Russ.

Hi Russ, good of you to join us! Nice looking bike there, I am begining to wish I had a plunger. Got two Swinging arms myself. I expect you'll be poping along to the local BSA owners club, some great guys there in your locality. Look after that bike now. cheers.

Hi Russ, nice looking 53'! I too have a 53' plunger A10. At the moment i'm restoring it back to its semi-original condition. I took off the sportster tank, the seat and rear fender. It looked too harley for me! I got a nos a10 tank and will be buying a custom saddle seat and chrome rear fender.Good luck with your bike. Cheers Guy.

Hi,

Here is some better pics of my '53 - took them yesterday following the annual New Years Day run organised by the North Birmingham Section of the VMCC, there is even a picture with my ugly mush in too!

Regards,

Russ.

Hey Russ, you've got a splendid looking machine, looks great in every detail and superbly maintained (and I see you have chosen to use good tires). Congrats.
