Hi, Having got the correct carb (276) is there a particular trick/sequence or method of getting the connecting rubber on both the Vokes air filter and carb at the same time? I can only get it on one or the other - but not both!!!  problem The connecting rubber is from Draganfly so should be okay. I've given up tonight due to lack of patience and settled for a beer! Any advice or suggestions appreciated. Another beer calls.

Cheers

Hi RR,

Well, the beer helps of course! When I fitted mine before opting for twin carbs I made sure that the angle between the carb and airbox was correct. You might or might not have a tufnel spacer between the carb and cylinder head? This could either help or be a hindrance to the fitting. If the rubber is prone to slipping off then I'd not use any lubricating liquid as such. If it is a good fit and is tight then maybe a slim type of jubilee clip on the carb end might hold the rubber in place while you push and prod to fit into the box. That's the best I can come up with. Good Luck!

Are you sure you have the correct rubber there are three types. One for an short stroke A7 plunger and one for A10 plunger. There is a different one again for the early longstrokes.

Thanks LJ & terryk;
Felt better after the beer for sure! I don't have any spacers apart from the usual drip tray and two thin gaskets and haven't used any lube. But have I got the correct tube? - who knows; I wasn't aware there were 3 types. I ordered it for an A7 plunger so maybe there's my mistake. Will do some searching to see if any differents types are made. Also will look out a j/clip to secure one end at least if I can't get the corect part. One day........
Thanks guys,
RR

G'day RR,
                  the A7 and A10 connectors are different. The A7 having shorter barrels means the connector is a little lower also. Yes they are a pain to fit.

Thanks Muskrat,
And I thought it was just me being gifted! Perhaps it'll be one of those annoying jobs I'll leave right to the very end so I can get to an autojumble with my existing tube and see what I've bought and what I need (have the worlds greatest select of parts that don't fit) confused.
Good excuse for more beer I guess, not that I really need one wink.

Thanks for the advice
Cheers
