Hi Everyone
I am trying  to purchase a Rear Brake Cam Lever to convert my Super Rocket to rod brake operation (thanks to all who pointed me in the right direction November last year).

I have purchased a couple brackets on Ebay which do not fit the Super Rocket cam as it is is square and I was hoping that the 12 sided ones would fit (to big).

Attached are  photos of A50/65  - 1962/1963 rod set up, does any know the part no: of this lever? or will it fit or not?

Regards
Nick

on my earlier circa 56 ariel type hub, I just modified the lever to take a rod. It did take a bit of drilling, grinding and welding.
Mind you this hub doesnt have the bolt on brake lever so not quite the same as your later hub.
I have no criticisms of the rod set up, works very well for me .

Hi Nick,
That looks a good idea.. I'm afraid I don't have an answer but I'll watch replies with interest! Good luck with the search..

G'day Nick,
I have the same plate & lever/spring etc. that came on my S/R when I first got it.
It had me pretty confused, because my model is meant to be cable operated with
the flat lever pointing to the ground. The plate had the cable adjuster bracket in the
correct lower posy though, so someone has just put the a65 lever & cam on I think.
Anyway I just took the spring off, turned it upside down & used it like that, thinking
that I just had the incorrect lever, & one day swap it over. Got the new lever, & of
course doesn't fit. Anyway, thats probably not much help to you, but I can tell you
that that lever has a star hole that fits over the larger square cam. I can send photo's
if you need. Also if a A10 cam fits the hub I have, would do a swap for your cam & lever,

regards, Cus

Hi Adrian

If you type in Rear Brake Conversion in search you will pick up the posting from last year which has loads of information that members helped me with, happy to send/forward you all the photos I have.

There is a cross- over lever on Ebay now (eye type).

Regards
Nick

Hi Cus

Thanks for the photos, I think your cam will fit my plate with a bit of work but I think my cam dia 1/2'' shaft will be too small for your plate ?.

Do live in the UK?

G'day Nick,
No, Australia. If the cams were interchangable it wouldn't be so bad for post,
but not for the whole plate. But at least you know what to look for!
