Does anyone know where I can source a rev counter gearbox to suit my 55 road rocket. Is anybody manufacturing them or do I have to chase secondhand.

Mark,

BOA has one listed, but better sit down before you look at the price  wink

According to my list the Smiths part number is 70549/4. Might be of help perhaps.

A mate of mines' dad told me they were the same as Jaguar ones.
I don't know whether this is correct, but he is a very experienced motorcyclist who runs old bikes now and hasn't stopped running them since they were new.
So it would be worth looking into.
Be sure and let us know what you find out.
Cheers,
Iain

Lyford Classics £117 + vat + p&p in the UK. Also Burton Bike Bits. 2:1 ratio. Not cheap but made in the UK. You will also need the drive nut for the magneto.

Thanks for the help guys. I am checking out the Jaguar drive and have found an incomplete one that fits correctly onto the timing case, now I have to find out if they are 1:1 and reversed. If not it looks like British Only have the best price and I will go with them.
All the best

Phil Pearson has an origional looking bronze rev counter drive on his web site. Not cheap but looks a lot better than the black metal ones that are sold by most dealers and on FleaBay. There is a picture on his Home page.

Thanks John I have just got off the phone to Phil and am now considerably poorer but I just had to have one of his drives. It's only money.

A little late with a reply but for future purchases these seem a good price...
