Hello guys, My names Luke and my Dads names Phil, we own an A7SS and an A10 which we are converting into a Police bike  We got both of them as restoration projects the A7 being the worst. We have stripped it and rebuilt every nut and bolt and it has took us around 2 years to finish  Its been a real learning curve I tell you that  Heres a Picture of the A7SS   The A10 at the moment is in bits. Most of the tinware has been prepped and is in primer, the engine is finished, we didnt need to do much to it as the previous person who owned it had rebuilt it, then some 2 months later he passed away  He had taken the exhausts off sprayed them in WD40 and packaged them up etc etc Its going to be a tidy rebuild but Not mint condition. The A7 has emptied the funds so we are building it a usable condition with all the police equipment on. We have collected a few parts for it, the rear police sign, craven panniers and the radio but we are still hunting around for some decent pictures of the police bike ( its a swinging arm, like used on heartbeat) So if anyone has any photo's of the police bike they would be greatly received I haven't any pictures of the A10 yet but I am working on it today so I will take a few photo's

 Me on the bike only days after it was finished  Im a little bigger know and can ride myself lol We finished it in 2006

Brilliant stuff Luke! and welcome along to our forum, you must be our youngest here! The bike looks fantastic congrats to you and Dad. I've had a look through my photos and only have a few Police BSAs. My Dad rode Police bikes during the fifties and sixties but Triumphs sadly, although he owned an A7 Shooting Star and often said it was the better bike to ride. Stick around as we'd love to hear of your rides with pictures.

Thanks alot, we are very proud of it and after the first you cant stop lol, we have got quite a few BSA's know  My first bike is a 1949 Bantam D1 as it came out of the factory  ive done over 1500 miles on the thing and only had a few problems but nothing serious ( flat tyre, things wobbling loose etc) but its still going strong and its never been touched! I have know got myself an MZ to potter about on as I dont want to ruin the bantam but its turning out the good old beeza is more reliable than the MZ  Im currently restoring a B40 into a scrambler too  It soon becomes an illness

Thansk alot LJ, I am 17 so techniqually not allowed on here  but I hope you will let me stay I will Try and dig out a few more photo's of out bikes  all of them we have restored apart from the Bantam and the B40 in road trim. Ohh and I have seen your video's of the A10 on Youtube  When the police bike is finished we are going to record a funny clip of the police bike chasing my bike which will be the starfire. We have been collecting all the old clothing too, the goldtop boots, leather jackets, silk scarfs, police tuninc and jodpers and helmet, the gloves etc etc

Of COURSE you can stay! It's a real pleasure to us old un's to see youngsters taking an interest in these bikes, I wish my lad (18) had a bit more enthusiasm even after having done thousands of miles on the back of my bikes to various camps. Probably my daughter Emma (16) who you might have seen starting the bikes up on You Tube, she'll prolly be a BSA rider when she takes her test next Feb when she turns 17, Here's keeping fingers crossed. Hey you've just earned your first Karma point!

Heres some more pictures for you   My bantam as it came out of the factory   My Bantam trials in its very early stages, it know has heavy dutyforks, 21 inch from wheel, 19 inch rear with 3.50 dunlop tyre just to lift it a little as im a big guy, ally guards and hi level pipe and large sprocket  It still needs finishing as I put it together quickly without painting it etc so I could use it, I have since stripped it back down ready for paint    Bsa Starfire which is nearly finished, just got the rear light to wire up, put the chain on, fit rear exhaust, and generally tune it up and its ready for its MOT   Bsa B40   The C15 Project which I am converting to trials trim, its know completely stripped down, all the oil tank etc are prepped for paint, frame cleaned off and that's as far as I have got at the moment, I am searching for info with the forks and hubs etc as I think I can use Bantam Hubs but Im not sure The B40 scrambler isnt really much to take a picture of, we got it as a box of bits which it still is. The frames done and painted, hubs done and painted, tin work done and painted. Trying to decide what size rims to use then when I have I can Lace them up. Engine we haven't started on yet, we want to get it rolling first. How the scrambler started off...

Right, well today's been quite productive, took off the toolbox and chainguard degreased and stripped them, filled in all the potmarks etc so they are ready and I will paper them down tomorrow and primer them, then I took the oil tank, drip plate, top engine stays, dynamo covers, stand, rear wheel, sprocket and chain, clutch lever, kick-start and gear lever, rear brake assembly off ready to prep them for primer tomorrow. If we have enough time me and dad will drop the engine and gearbox out tomorrow so next week I can start cleaning off the frame ready for paint   Heres the pictures  We have already stripped the forks, headlight, tank, seat and mudguards off, they are all ready to paint which will hopefully be soon The rear drum, bearings, shoes and sprocket are perfect so these will be cleaned up and painted, regreased etc etc the chain hardly has any bow so that will be reused too  We will delace the wheel, clean it all up and get a set of stainless rims  We will also look at a 12volt conversion aswell, we didnt do it with the A7 but as we will be running the police gear too it may be worth it  . We know the police bikes ran alternators but we haven't managed to get one yet I think thats enough for today hehe  its rusty but solid

Evening all, haven't been on for a while but we have an update Its best to show you what we have been up to with photo's        All tinware is painted, petrol tank is finished, forks rebuilt, engine finished apart from polishing the rocker box, gearbox refurbed, and most of the parts either restored or we have bought new, although we have tried to salvage as much as possible to keep the costs down The wheels are in as we speak being refurbed with new spokes and rims, all the brake system is cleaned up polihed, the brake pads were fine so we just roughed them up as they had glazed. No worries  Theres not much update this time as a good friend of mine was murdered  so things round here has been a little hectic. Wheels havent come back yet I have stripped the gearbox, replaced the seals and gaskets and all is good on that front so were good to go
