bakewell m/cycle museum

most of the uk members probably know this museum and have visited it, but I had no idea it existed

my missus anounced we were have a day out in derbyshire as she wanted to look for a campsite, we had a wander around bakewell while we were there and I spoted this place

only two quid to get in so she went for a coffee while I drooled over the bikes , double result..............peace and quite and surrounded by bikes and memorablia, its only small and they pack the bikes in..............but what a place

if anyone who hasnt been there I can reccomend it

Agreed, it's a great place - but only open bank holidays IIRC.

All proceeds go to the Derbyshire Air Ambulance, again IIRC.

Yes, it's a great place isn't and the guys who run it are really friendly and only too happy to chat. The bikes all get regular exercise too - lots of them find their way to the VMCC training days so that youngsters can get a chance to ride a flat tanker. As I recall, there are a couple of Beesa's there too - although I was most taken with the big Matchie vee twin and the Norton ES2 standing outside.

Lovely place, great guys and brilliant scenery ... the Bakewell tarts (sorry, pies) are well worth a go round too!!
