As the B's are in many way related to and close to the A's, and seems like many here also owns (or likes) B's, should we include a few B boards as well ? Creating the boards takes 2 minutes, so that is no problem at all, would it be helpful, or should we stick to the A7\10 speciality.

Just some thoughts, opinions welcome.

I don't see why not. I don't have one (wish I did) but a few friends do. They also share a lot of cycle parts. It would grow the membership numbers.
But then what about the other A's (50 & 65) where do you draw the line?
Cheers

Hmmmm it could be a recipe for confusion as if there is not already enough confusions with A7s & A10s.

I dont own one but would like too

I enjoy reading about them and it would grow the membership, im sure the b owners are just as knowledgeable and friendly as the posters on here already and it would be nice to chat with them

Personally, I would have greatly appreciated a forum like this when I was struggling with restoring my DBD34 Gold Star which had all sorts of incorrect bits on it and you don't really enjoy making mistakes when you could have asked the worldwide help you get here.
I'm for it but you may have to review your categories to maybe include a specific category for 'B Series Engines' to avoid confusion?

.....But then what about the other A's (50 & 65) where do you draw the line?.....

The BSA section on Britbike is heavily biased towards the unit twins and tbh is my first port of call for those models. Plenty of experiance on other Beezas too but A50/65 threads seem to account for a good 75% of posts on there.

Sounds like a great idea to me - especially as many of the bits are interchangeable. Go for it!!!!!!

I do have B's and M's so you would think I would be in favour of this idea but my answer is no.

The problem I see is if we include B's then we should also include the M series and then probably the unit twins etc.

The way I see it we either stick to A's or go to a all models BSA forum which I think would get too complex.

By all means include a section for photos of "members other bikes" or something similar but I think the main focus should remain on the A series.

As per usual I will go with whatever the majority choose, thats the good thing about a democracy, as long as eveybody agrees with me of course  wink

Thanks for the input. Evaluating for and against, I like the B's personally (not owing one, but nearly bought on several occasions). But I agree with those who think it's best to keep the forum as a specialized a7\a10 site, although it sure would have worked with some B boards, it must be managed and monitored, day to day work load could increase quite a lot, and topics\posts could get quite mixed up.

What I could do is provide some start help if anyone here wants to set up a B forum (my meager knowledge is into the SMF forum software only).

I own B an M models but I do agree in keeping this site for A10 and A7. This site is very good for new BSA A10/7 owners as well as experienced restorers so keeping it to A10/7 is very helpful for everyone especially with technical information. It would get very confusing for some if too many models were spoken about.

There is already an M20 site most M20 owners would know about it. Here is the link if you dont.
http://members.quicknet.nl/ahum/

This M20 site is also very helpful.  B model questions do come up from time to time on this site. There are very experienced owners that give advise for M20 as well as B models because B and M models are similar. Because this M20 site is mainly for military M20s they also have other military bike questions and answers as well so it does get off track a bit here and there. It doesnt really worry me because I know B and M models really well but for new owners it would get confusing. I just look at the topics that I am interested in and skim the other stuff.

In saying that I would love to see someone start a specific B model site because I am very interested in them and I know there would be alot of B model owners out there looking for that information. I would start one if I knew how.
