Yes, the problem of 30M gallons of crude in the Gulf did occur to me as I was worrying about the few tablespoons coming out of my A10.

I just thought of something else ironic.

When I was out riding last week, I had to stop for gas and it was at a BP station. After filling up I went to start the bike and the throttle slide got stuck nearly wide open. I immedeiately hit the kill switch, but for some reason she kept running. I was leaning on the seat to keep it from vibrating away, all the while with no result from the kill switch. I reached down and pulled one of the spark-plug wires and that  did kill it.  After that, while riding home, I tested the kill switch at normal engine speeds and it worked fine. I guess I'm curious why the kill switch didn't work with the engne running near top RPM, but that's not why I told the story.  It is really a BP-related "Can't stop it once it's running out of control" story.

That event had me going at first and then worried, but all seems OK, except I need to fix the carb.

e, Sorry if I turned your interesting disaster humor into a tech topic.
