That was Holty's mates flash. I think that he is on this list. Tony bought it and decided to leave the paint work as is. Next to it was Brian's DBD32 then my M 20. I gather that the black flash was yours Wilko ? Looks like we need to do a MIE type T-shirt so that we recognise each other at rallys. I was looking for Musky as it was "just down the road" from his place. Steve was going to ride his Flash but Tony Howard sent him the wrong belt drive basket so the belt did not fit ( hense the Bonnie ) and Denny was going to bring the Big Valve out but it decided that it did not want to play, so he had to "rough it on the BDB 34. Apart from me throwing a chain & Shane ( on the Jubilee Bonnie) loosing a blinker we had a pleasant uneventful ride down. three from Walla Wally & the other two from Sydney & Nowra.

Sorry I missed it. Still playing with carbs and sparks. Denny said it was great. He also spoke of a BSA rally up Newcastle way in Oct. I'm aiming for that. Cheers

Ok as Musky mentioned it, I will take the oppertunity to plug it. 6th BSA National Rally ; October 1- 3 ; Maitland Gaol NSW Australia. < www.bsanational.org.au>. After this year we next get to host the National in 2014 and being a state club will be going down your way. I got in Denny's ear to do a short list of suitable sites so if you can think of some, whisper in his ear as well because I want to get the site chosen by the end of 2011.

T'was on the way to Bathurst races. That bat is probably a piece of clothing drying out after a rainstorm! I bought that bike from Dave at Modak. I just gave it a rebore and pistons, and it kept partially seizing all the way because i was two up and the poor thing didn't get a decent run in before the trip, so it was knackered when i got back, so i threw some talcum powder up the pipes to give the exhaust a nice grey to them for selling purposes! Dodgy!!

Trevor, Maitland Jail ? Is this so the wallopers don't have far to drag you? The Council rang and touted the Gaol, Having eaten out a few fines and well, having an "interesting" past the inside of a gaol has no mystery to me. But the rally committee fell in love with the novelty of it. Maitland Gaol closed because it could not make current OH&S standards ( even for a Gaol) & was too labour intensive. It was a max gail and the last "historic" figure to reside there was Ivan Mallat. If you come down there will be a Gaol tour ticket in your bag & you can even have your photo taken in Ivan's old cell. We actually will be staying in the sports ground ( under canvas ) but all rides will start & finish at the Gaol. The concors D'ete will be in the Gaol as will the dinner Saturday night. The BSAOC Qld are riding down and staying in a marquee I am sure if you gave them a buzz they could squeeze you in. www.bsaqld.com.au

Jeez Trevor, never been to one of those places as a visitor. Are you sure they will let me back out, or just transfer me. Got the entry form (didn't need one last time there (gaol)). Probably get locked up again when they see the cafe. Cheers

G'day Olev & all, GREAT weekend, I got there late Friday. Took the scenic rout of 280 miles with 3 other Shoalhaven fellows (2 Goldies and a A65). Very overcast but rain held off. About 50 or so bikes there already. Trevor was very busy so hard to nail down for a chat. Half a dozen beers were enough for me after a long day. A little rain over night. Saturday had more rain clouds threatening as more bikes arrived. 10 am muster at the gaol for the ride with I think over 100 bikes (I won't count the Trihards or Ariels). A good ride but directions got a bit fuzzy so the group got splintered with a lot turning up for smoko at the lunch site. I like to start at the back of the pack and overtake anything that moves (take the boy outta the race track but never the race track outta the boy). So I overtook everyone till I came up to a rider with an orange vest and thought he was the leader. Wrong, he was lost. We ended up at the smoko point but from the wrong direction ! Eventually everyone turned up. A short ride back to the lunch site. Lunch was put on by the local bush fire folk and was a bang up feed. Ah a pub next door, just to wash the food down . About a 50 mile ride back, at about the 20 mile mark the heavens opened up. I got soaked and the old girl started missing on the RH side (no rubber thing on the bottom of the spark plug cap). It was fun holding it flat on one cylinder then half way through a corner the other would cut in. Like a 2 stroke power band. I went back to the camp site to dry out, most went to the gaol where they (the bikes) would be judged and locked up for the night. I used the bus to get over there, (the bus also took non riders around the ride circuit). Din-din was great washed down with lots of amber fluid. An auction was held to flog off any un-sold regalia. Awards were given for about 15 categories. The bus took about 50 well oiled bods back to the camp ground where more lubrication was applied. Up early Sunday for breaky before ride home so missed the planned ride. Rained for about 100 miles but the silastic kept the water out of the plug cap. Covered 660 miles and no oil leaks. Recon the old girl would do it again tomorrow without a spanner being touched. A few pis of us (SCMC) and at lunch on Sat. Note the B66 one of my crew got to swap rides on it, he'll be squarking about that for years. Cheers
