I got the dishwasher and oven to myself for two days. I'm going to dishwash a pair of crankcases, then heat in the oven to remove the drive side bearing race.

While thats doing, I will put 100+ miles on the Flash

Any other suggestions??

Do you know the episode of "Home Improvement" where Tim Taylor tries to boil a large salmon in the dish washer?

I've wondered whether that could really work ever since...   grins

G'day Andy,
I've never owned a dishwasher (wife works fine) so can't comment on it's use for cases.
Make sure the other bushes (cam & idler) don't fall out as well. I put a bolt & washers through just finger tight to keep in place.
When done and just before the return of the other half, cook a leg of lamb or similar to disguise the smell of cooked engine parts. smile
Cheers

If you have tiled floors in your house make sure you dont spill any oil. Its easy to wipe off the tiles but it soaks into the grouting between them and is nearly impossible to clean............................................................

My old mum and latterly my wife , always moan when ive had engine parts in the oven.I dont know what they are complainig about, the smoke usually clears within an hour and the smell is gone within a day (or2).
Its the same if im spray painting in the garden  and she wants to put the washing out. " I know its a sunny day dear. Thats why im doing it ".

I went around to visit a mate of mine, and he was rebuilding his V8 sprintcar engine in his kitchen.  He thought it was great that his wife had left him for another man, a short while after she "took up jogging".
"Too bloody hot working out there in the shed" he said.  smiley4
