Hi,
As I said in my introductory post I hope I can make a positive contribution to this forum. Unfortunately my tech knowledge is fairly limited so I'll be asking a lot more questions than I answer.
However, As part of the deal I made with my mate for the bike, I got an original parts catalog and a workshop manual. I promised to scan these and send him a copy.
As I'm sure you know scanning something like this is a big job, so I decided I might as well go the whole hog and do OCR on it and create an editable version, rather than an image.
This is going slowly but OK.
I'm not sure what format I will use for the finished document so as a trial project I have created this HTML data table. I don't know if this will be of any use to forum users but I would appreciate any comments additions or corrections.

many thanks
dodmo
