Wow, looks great. How did you make them? Casting? CNC milling?

I cast them with an alloy of two different low melting point metals.
Took a while to get it just right !

Took a while to get it just right ! I bet it did. Good job! But could be a problem to get that shiny golden look, anodizing won't work with your alloy I suppose???

Terry, I was looking at an old badge which has a splash of red on the back, possibly from when the badge was made. At a guess it may be "Devon Red" as was used on many bikes. I suppose it would fade to the flat maroon colour over time. Trev.

Gday Trev, I think the fella that makes those badges has red already on them Im not sure how close to original it is. I think with the badges issue how I mentioned it at the beginning is pretty much right so I think he already is making them like that without the gold on the wings. People can always paint them how they like but I really would like to know for sure how they were. At least they are available now.
Thanks for that longstroke engine mount Trev. I have enough bits now to build a 1950 star twin so that mount I got from you will go on it now. Im still looking for the 1948 enclosed one so keep a look out for me. I decided to do a Star Twin at some stage because I found some longstroke A7 cases in my shed with an S in the engine number its 1950 and I have a spare 1950 plunger frame so I should have most of the rest of the bike including the star twin manifold and that battery carrier I mentioned before. The Star Twin will be way down the track though. cheers Terry

Hi Unclemeat, I've just registered for this forum and am looking for a L/h tank badge. I see you cast some. Are you planning to make more ?
