Fuel Filters

I have removed the old torn filters in a pair of fuel taps and plan to "Glue" new ones in. The new ones are brass inside a plastic cage. is it possible to use devcon or some such? Basiclly what's a safe bonding solution to use on brass (Taps) and plastic while it will always be immersed in petrol?

I used Araldite and the filters are still in place after four years. I cleaned the taps with brake cleaning fluid before gluing because petrol is a bit oily. The most crucial aspect of this task is removing all traces of oil.

I always use in-line filters, those small cone shaped ones with the gold stone in side,
they work really well & arn't too bukly.

I got some sintered bronze rod ( those small gold stones ) turned the ends down to fit inside the tap and popped them in as if they were bearings, worked like a charm
