1956 BSA A10

The oil pump seems to be ok thanks manosound for the film of the oil reurn. Attached picture of the bike. It has taken three years to build from bits. I have restored motorcycles before but have never built one from bits. It has been very frustrating at times getting parts and in particular the correct part from auto jumbles and e bay. I decided right from the start that to make it original would be difficult if not impossible, so I have built it how I want it. This raises the old question original or not. Some people will not go near a machine if it is not orginal. What do members of the forum think, original or non original?

Well if I can ever get them together I will have two A10's, the project I'm working on will be an eyesore to any purist - a model with bits of Rocket, bits of Flash, bits of Goldie and indicators, 12 volt electrics and a non BSA colour to boot ( hence the title Rocket Gold Flash).
The other bike was roadgoing until I robbed it of a few bits, but it's stock and as came out of the factory apart from a few stainless bits and it's gold it was originaly black.
I intend to get it back to black as I do like a black bike if it's done right, no other colour polishes up like black ( without laquer) in my opinion.

So I should have two bikes one for each camp
At the end od the day it's your bike to enjoy anyway you wish

I think most people know that I'm an originalist! BUT... sometimes some non original bikes please my eye, and this bike certainly is one of them, so congrats on a nice build! In all honesty, so long as the non original parts are not welded on permanently and things can be undone and changed, then there is nothing wrong with building non original. Goodness knows the history of my own machines.

Nice bike I like it very much.
