Triumph around the World: special request

As I am about to send the Triumph Around the World book to Chris (Flatboy) in South Africa, I thought I would add some pictures you all (not "y'all", because I'm not from the South) might find interesting. Erling already included the front cover, so I woun't post it again. There is a picture of the inside front cover with the list of names and destinations (I blanked out surnames so as not to breach privacy). There is a picture of the Sombreros Motorcycle Club sticker from DT in Brazil. He included three with the book and I took the liberty of keeping one. I hope there is no objection. Then, I made up a map with the journies made by the book and by Robbie Marshall drawn in.  

I enjoyed the read, but "literature" like "quality" lives largely in the mind of the observer. (See Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.) For me, it's not literature, but fun none-the-less. I daydream of such a trip, but he did it! I think Mexico, Central America and Colombia would be even more dangerous today, considering the cartels.

...and, it is now posted and on the way to Durban, South Africa. It would be great if it could cross the Pacific to make its "Around the World" complete. Can't recall who is next, Markus or Bob (Kiwipom) in NZ. If it were Bob, he would in the right geography to send it to someone in the New World. (I had been thinking of our one-time guest, Fernando, in Argentina, but he has slipped from the map). OK, I don't mean to be manipulative. I suppose it's best to let the book ride free with its face in the wind, like we all love to.

I was censured & censored for a nasty remark.
I re-read the book over the weekend in case I had skipped 3/4 of it.
Nothing to say except it is heading to NZ on Monday.

Well, just avoid posting content that attracts any adm edits.

Regarding the world tour, I'll hope future and past readers sees that this guy did something few would ever manage in a lifetime (or 10 lifetimes for that matter), and also honored the revival of a UK motorcycle industry by doing the tour on one of the 1st English bikes (Hinckley Triumph) since the 70's collapse.

Thanks very much for sending the book to it's next stop, and hoping it will be appreciated and safely continue it's visits to countries around the world.

In 2003 Robbie swapped his life in Brighton for a life in Spain and set up home in Almeria where he wrote articles about bikes and biking. In October 2003 he was involved in an accident on his bike and died three weeks later.

His spirit of adventure lives on and he will be missed by many people who had the fortune of meeting him.
